Troy Boardä
Acoustical Sound Board
Troy Boardä
structural acoustical boards are rugged, strong and waterproof.
The natural components that make up the Troy Boardä
material are impregnable to the exterior elements, thus enabling
the use of this material for exterior applications as
environmental sound control. This abuse resistant material is
the ideal choice for shooting ranges, sound stages, equipment
enclosures and highway noise barriers. Interior uses range from
recording studios, test chambers and home theatres.
The
edges are trimmed to provide a bevel or square edge look. The
tongue and grove shape provides snug fitting seams. The Troy
Boardä
may be cut with a “Skill Saw”, or “Sawzall” type of saw. No
special cutting devises are necessary, although, carbide blades
are preferred.
Interior Walls and Ceilings: Staggered
seams are preferred, however for heights less than 8’, sheets
may be run vertically. Fasteners: #14 self-tapping hex head-for
steel connections, ¼” lag type screws for wood connections.
Always use an approved dust mask and goggles when cutting and
installation of Troy Boardä.
Expose Troy
Boardä may be covered
with fabric, for interior finishes, or painted using acrylic
latex paint with an airless sprayer. No other finishes are
necessary for acoustical absorption.
The Troy
Board finish color is a primer white with the natural color of
wood fibers blended through.
Troy Boardä
does not contain any asbestos, urea-formaldehyde or CFC blowing
agents.
Troy Boardä
is listed with the New York City Board of Standards and Appeals-
Calendar No. 651-73-SM

Troy Wool™ Acoustical Insulation
Installation
Troy Wool™
Acoustical Insulation is easily cut with a knife for quick
installation and snug fit, even around obstruction and
structural members. Butt ends and edges together closely to fill
all voids with additional insulation.
Interior walls: Friction fit Troy Wool™ Acoustical
Insulation batts between metal or wood studs, filling the entire
cavity to the full height of the wall. Leave no voids.
Ceilings: Lay Troy Wool™ Acoustical Insulation batts
over designated ceiling area. Stick clips may also be used over
concrete decks.
Do not expose product to weather during shipping,
storage or installation. Use an approved dust respirator and
goggles when handling and installation of Troy Wool™ Acoustical
insulation. A loose fitting long-sleeved shirt and long pants
are recommended to provide skin protection. Hat or caps keep
dust particles out of hair and away from scalp.
Applicable
Standards
Troy Wool™
Acoustical Insulation complies with ASTM C 665 Type I. The
material is considered noncombustible per ASTM C 136. Troy Wool™
Acoustical Insulation also complies with the MEA 346-90
requirements of the City of New York.
Information
on the surface burning characteristics of Troy Wool™ Acoustical
Insulation was derived from product test per ASTM E 84. This
standard is used to measure and describe the properties of
materials, products or assemblies in response to heat and flame
under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to
describe or approve the fire hazard of materials under actual
fire conditions. However, the results of these tests may be used
as elements of a fire risk assessment that takes into account
all of the factors pertinent to an assessment of the fire hazard
of a particular end use. Values are reported to the nearest five
(5) ratings.
